Bluestone is a band that has been performing for many venues since forming in 1993. The band derives its name from the blue in bluegrass music and stone from “Keystone” a former band of some original members. The band that formed over two decades by Dick Laird and is currently comprised of Tom Cook (Mandolin, Vocals), Carroll Swam (Guitar, Vocals), Ben Sapp (Banjo, Vocals), Russ Hooper (Dobro, Vocals) and Heath Laird (Bass, Vocals). This hard-driving veteran bluegrass band is certainly no stranger to the scene as members have played with the Flatt and Scruggs, The Country Gentlemen, The Franklin County Boys, Dave Evans, Frank Wakefield, The Country Gentlemen, Gary Ferguson, Paul Adkins and others. Firmly grounded in traditional bluegrass, Bluestone’s repertoire also incorporates; gospel, country, blues, swing, and folk influences as well.
